No, we won’t leave a skip on a public highway but you can site it in your driveway or site ground.
All skips must be sited on private ground or within the curtilage of a property as to avoid disruption to neighbours or the highway. The ground must be suitable for the skip and it’s loaded weight. We are happy to advise you.
-
Yes we can but the driver may need to carry out a quick check to ensure it safe to do this. All sites are different and we don’t want to damage anything during the process. We also have an obligation to keep the public highway safe during delivery.

Things like animal carcasses, asbestos, full or part full tins of paint, flammable liquids, batteries, gas bottles, tyres, polluting materials or anything you think just doesn’t “feel right” to put in a skip. It’s best to check with us first to avoid excessive waste charges but this list gives an idea of what not to put in our skips.
If you are unclear about what type of waste you have then just get in touch – we are here to help.

Plasterboard is a controlled waste product and cannot be taken to landfill. We have to carefully dispose of it. As a general rule, you should place plasterboard at the top of your skip so it can be carefully sorted. If it is “buried” or “hidden” in the skip then there may be a surcharge related to its disposal.
If you want to dispose of large amounts of plasterboard then it wise to contact us. We can offer a competitive price.

We do recycle most things like white goods, wood and anything that has a future use.
For example, we recycle rubble and crush it so it can be used for track and agricultural road building. Plasterboard is sorted and inspected, taken to a plasterboard recycling centre which is then often turned back into plasterboard.
Paper and cardboard take a similar route to plasterboard. Wood is sent for shredding to be made into biomass pellets or future timber applications.
Not all products can be recycled because they are deemed to be uneconomical or hazardous. We assess waste during our recycling process where everything is sorted, graded and processed.
